As Director of the Infrasound Laboratory at University of Hawaii, Milton tracks and records the inaudible, low-frequency sounds of tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes and other geophysical phenomenon in an effort to provide a worldwide early warning system for the impending danger of natural events. In Memory of
On August 28, 2012 Lee Dirks and his wife Judy Lew were killed in a tragic car accident in Peru, where they were celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary. They left behind their beautiful young daughters, Esme and Lila. His death has created a crater-sized hole of grief and loss for his family, friends and colleagues from around the world.
