Foresight. Creativity. Innovation.
The10 Conference brings together a community of global thought leaders and extraordinary innovators for a two-day conversation to explore the most important ideas shaping the future of business and society - and what they mean for our collective future .
Our mission is to ignite and foster breakthrough, catalytic ideas by bringing together leading edge innovators and visionaries from diverse fields and perspectives - scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, economists, designers, educators and more - to share insight, experience and inspiration.
Unlike a traditional conference, at 10 there are no talking-head keynotes, no breakout session in poorly-lit conference rooms. Instead, 10 is built around a series of interconnected conversations. The program features 10 sessions, each a deep-dive into one powerful idea, explored through a series of short, dynamic, presentations.
The 2011 program for the 10 Conference asks the question: Is business ready for Catalytic Ideas ?
With rising global demand for the "good life," with rising awareness of the vulnerabilities and interdependencies of our current global economy, and with a widespread loss of confidence in the unrestrained free market, what new ideas and developments point the way to global prosperity?
Through a series of interconnected conversations, driven by the provocative presentations of our speakers, we will explore the ideas that hold the promise for reshaping business and society in the years ahead.
What are the business models of the future?
How will companies and consumers create value?
What technologies and ideas will power commerce?
In past eras the crowd has always been the mob, a sea of unfamiliar and strange faces, a source of uncertainty and danger.
How profoundly will society change as everyone becomes a partner, funder, and contributor in our lives?
Self-healing materials, autonomous drug delivery, and self-organizing networks are emerging technologies of adaptation.
What are the new philosophies and technologies that will inspire the creation of a more robust and sustainable world?
Myths, passion, and purpose are the ingredients for compelling, irresistible narratives that communicate and inspire.
What are emerging as the most exciting stories and how are they being told?
Triple-bottom line, social entrepreneurship, the bottom billion: all part of the rising recognition about creating 360 degree value in our endeavors.
What are the most innovative ways for creating value for consumers, community, and the world?
Structured by nature for lives with a few, strong relationships in a slowly changing environment, the pace of modern life often overwhelms.
What are the tools and skills to deal with lives of immersive connectivity?
History has moved from the hand crafts of the hunter gather to the guild artisans of the agrarian age to the routinized manufactures of the assembly line.
What new models and possibilities are emerging in the era of mass DIY culture?
Black swans, wild cards, and creative disruption; ours is an age of continual surprise and changing rule sets.
What can emerging science teach us about adapting and thriving amidst turbulence and uncertainty?
We live in an age of desktop fabricators, DIY biohacking, and crowdsourced funding.
What will it mean to live lives of perpetual, accelerating experimentation, revision, and mashup?
The movement of the stars, the flow of rivers, and the migration of animals all contained key insights by which our ancestors found their way through the world.
What new tools will reveal the cues we need to navigate the rapidly evolving landscapes of the 21st century?
Meet a few of the extraordinary innovators featured at 10
